Online broking awards for 'Best Value for Money' and 'Best Company Research'

March 22, 2011: Bell Direct has been named "Best Value for Money" online broker in a major industry survey by leading financial services research company Investment Trends.

The Investment Trends December 2010 Online Broking Report, which surveyed more than 6,000 active share traders, also gave Bell Direct the award for "Best Company Research" in the industry.

Bell Direct chief executive officer Arnie Selvarajah said: "We're delighted to receive this recognition from share traders through such a widely respected and in-depth research report.

"Bell Direct entered the industry almost four years ago with the promise to challenge the big, established online brokers by providing a great value online share trading at low cost.

This report brings together feedback from sharetraders, so to have been named Best Value for Money online broker, as well as receiving the Best Company Research award, shows that our offering has genuinely resonated with sharetraders," he said.

The Investment Trends report found that overall, online share trader numbers declined slightly in the period between May 2010 and December 2010.

Bell Direct significantly increased market share to move into equal third position among frequent traders (those trading at least four times a month). There are now 7 per cent of frequent traders choosing Bell Direct as their primary broker.

"The reason we are now competing so strongly is that Bell Direct treats customer service and client satisfaction as paramount to our business," Selvarajah said.

"As part of the Bell Financial Group, we have a long tradition in stockbroking. This genuine pedigree gives our customers all the benefits of specialist broking services while still being priced to offer better value online trading."

"Bell Direct continues to prove that lower price does not have to mean inferior service or less features," Selvarajah said.

"We listen to our customers and give them what they want – it's that simple," he said.
