Sydney, September 22: Bell Direct today announced the launch of its iPhone application to make it easy for customers to trade shares anytime, anywhere.
And to coincide with the launch, Bell Direct also today sent an Apple iPhone to each of the 10 winners of its recent iPhone competition which attracted almost 1,500 entries.
Bell Direct chief executive Arnie Selvarajah congratulated the competition winners and said the new iPhone application was an innovative and important addition to Bell Direct's growing number of pioneering, yet cost-effective services.
"Our customers are interested in the same things we are: share trading that's easy and flexible yet still at the best price in the market," Selvarajah said.
"By providing customers with the new iPhone application, Bell Direct is once again showing our commitment to revolutionising the online share trading sector."
Selvarajah added that Bell Direct customers who had already bought an iPhone since the device was launched in Australia in July were early adopters of new technology who would now have the convenience of trading shares via their new phone, or simply staying in touch with their portfolio no matter where they were.
The new application is accessed via the iPhone Safari web browser and is quick and easy to load onto the handset. Once loaded, traders can make use of virtually all the features on Bell Direct's website, where there is also a demonstration available of the new application.
Customers who entered Bell Direct's competition last month to win an iPhone were asked to suggest what the company's next innovative product or service should be, and many useful and interesting ideas were received.
Selvarajah said Bell Direct was keenly aware of the need to stay in touch with the needs and expectations of its customers and the feedback received through the competition entries showed that the company was hitting the right nerve with online share traders.
"The high number of entries in our iPhone competition indicates not only the desirability of the next generation iPhone among our customers, but demonstrated a genuine demand for our iPhone trading application."
He said that in coming months, Bell Direct would be introducing additional features to the Bell Direct website as well as launching a range of new products and services. However, he added that some of the suggestions for new products sent in by competition entrants would probably not be feasible in the foreseeable future. These included:
"3D holographic min 80inch viewing area trading platform with speech recognition for maximum trading pleasure!" "telepathy trades" "a time machine"
"They're interesting ideas but slightly outside our scope, at least for now," Selvarajah said.
