Direct Cash Account

  • How do I open a Direct Cash Account?
Your Direct Cash Account is automatically opened when you complete and return your application form.
You will receive your BPay details and Direct Cash Account details via email once your Direct Cash Account set up has been completed.
Alternatively, you can access your Direct Cash Account details on the My Account page
  • What is the Direct Cash Account?
The Direct Cash Account is a cash management facility. For more information please read the Direct Cash Account prospectus.
  • Can I use another cash management facility from another provider?
Unfortunately not yet but it's something we're looking into.
The only cash management facility we authorise for use at Bell Direct is the Direct Cash Account.
  • How do I deposit funds?
You can deposit funds electronically by either:
    • BPay: simply use the Biller Code and your BPay Number OR
    • Electronic transfer: use your BSB and Account Number.
  • When will my funds deposit reach my cash account?
The timing of your funds deposit reaching your Direct Cash Account is dependent on your bank's processing time.
If your deposit instruction was completed before your bank's cut-off time, your funds will normally be in the Direct Cash Account the next business day.
Make sure you check the cut-off time with your bank to transfer funds out via electronic transfer and BPay.
  • When will my funds withdrawal from Bell Direct reach my bank account?
Our cut-off time to process a withdrawal is 2:30pm on business days only.
If your withdrawal instruction was made:
    • Before 2:30pm on a business day, your withdrawal will be processed the same day
    • After 2:30pm on a business day or on a non-business day, your instruction will only be processed at 2:30pm the next business day.
  • How do I withdraw funds?
Simply complete an online fund transfer request.
Please note that Bell Direct does not 'lock' or 'hold' funds for a particular funds transfer request. This gives you greater flexibility in your intra day trading and the ability to nominate a transfer amount in excess of your current available funds in anticipation of trades settling on future dates.
At the time of processing, we will calculate your available transfer balance and send the maximum amount possible up to the amount requested.
Please note that if your available transfer balance has reduced subsequent to your initial request, the amount transferred will be reduced accordingly.
Your available transfer balance takes into account your cash balance and any buys pending settlement and open buy orders you have at the time of processing your transfer request.
  • What time can I submit an online funds transfer request?
You can submit a funds tranfer request online at anytime.
Please note that if you want your funds transfer processed on the same day you will need to submit your request before to 2:30pm AEST.
  • How do I obtain a current balance?
You can view your current cash balance on the Wrap & Reporting page.
  • How do I view past transactions or interest earned on my account?
You'll find a detailed summary of debits and credits on your cash account on the Wrap & Reporting page.
  • Are there any fees or charges for the cash account?
    No, there are none.
  • Do I need to maintain a minimum balance in the cash account?
No, you will eligible to earn our very competitive interest rate on any funds deposited in your account.
  • How is the interest rate calculated and paid for the cash account?
Interest is calculated daily and paid monthly on the last day of the month.
  • Can I keep the Direct Cash Account open if I decide to close my trading account with Bell Direct?
No. If you close your Bell Direct account you'll also close your cash account.
